The Birds

They have a Tui beer - named for the Tui bird :) Beautiful bell-like feathers on the throat.

The Pukeko - actually saw these out and about around towns.

The Takahe - once believed to be extinct, only about 200 of these birds are known to exist today.

It was strange to be so close to something so rare... And the park isn't watched by anyone, its just there and open and runs on donations - with no one to watch the birds... kiwis... so trusting.
