Sydney Opera House
Amazingly enough, I managed to get tickets to two different performances - discounted because I was a student - at the Sydney Opera House. Amazing.
Wednesday, September 29, 2004:
"I got tickets for Twelfth Night, which I just got back from. Loved it. They had the actors in modern clothing - with a few other modern changes, but it was pretty true to Shakespeare. And! I didn't know this but Jonathan Hardy, the voice of Rygel from Farscape - mom and I had JUST had a discussion about Farscape! Irony! Was an awesome play - and then... I wound up hopping a bus with one of the lead actors. Uhm who knew actors took buses? *boggle* I kept it on the dl though ;) But it was cool to have a brush with stardom :)"
Twelfth Night is my favourite Shakespeare play...
The next night, Thursday, September 30, 2004 I got front row seats to The Barber of Seville. Front Row!
"I enjoyed my night at the Opera! Was awesome! I understood maybe 10 words of the entire thing of course, but the music was beautiful and made me think of the movie Oscar - The Barber of Seville is where the Figaro song came from."
This is what the roof of the Opera House looks like - a bit dirty, but you get the idea. Tons of little tiles.
And down between the Opera House and the water is a little cafe. You can tell what an icky day it was...
And the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It is constantly being repainted. It's so big and it needs paint every... 7 years I think it is, but it takes 7 years to paint the entire thing. Thus... always being painted. :)
