I lived in Papakowhai and student taught at the Plimmerton School in Plimmerton, New Zealand. I did my shopping in Porirua, New Zealand. These are all suburbs of Wellington, New Zealand (the capital of NZ).

This is a picture of the Plimmerton School where I student taught for 12 weeks.

Papakowhai and Porirua are both Maori words - Maori being the 2nd language spoken in NZ (the first being English). The Maori people are the original inhabitants of NZ.

New Zealand is also known as Aotearoa, in Maori this means "Land of the long white cloud."
